Build a Coaching Practice That Transforms Lives

Coaching isn't about giving advice—it's about asking the right questions and creating space for real change. This program teaches you the foundational skills that separate casual conversations from professional coaching relationships. You'll learn how to listen at a deeper level, structure sessions that create momentum, and build a practice grounded in ethical standards and genuine impact.

What Makes Coaching Different

Coaching has a specific methodology that distinguishes it from mentoring, consulting, or therapy. These are the core skills you'll develop throughout the program.

Session Structure

Every coaching conversation needs intentional design. You'll learn how to open sessions that connect to previous work, establish clear focus, and close with actionable commitments that clients actually follow through on.

Ethical Boundaries

Coaches work within defined scope. You'll understand when to refer clients to therapists, how to maintain confidentiality, and why dual relationships compromise the coaching dynamic. These boundaries protect both you and your clients.

Building Client Relationships

Trust develops through consistency, not charisma. You'll practice creating agreements that clarify expectations, handling difficult conversations without damaging rapport, and knowing when a coaching relationship has run its course.

Feedback Models

Coaches offer observations, not judgments. You'll learn frameworks for delivering feedback that clients can actually use—specific, behavioral, and tied to their stated goals rather than your assessment of what they should be doing.

From Curiosity to Practice

This program spans twelve weeks with live sessions, peer practice groups, and supervised coaching hours. You'll work with real clients under supervision, receive detailed feedback on recorded sessions, and build a portfolio of coaching conversations.

The curriculum follows International Coaching Federation competency standards. By the end, you'll have completed 24 practice hours, developed your coaching presence, and established a methodology that reflects your authentic style while meeting professional benchmarks.

    Weeks 1-3: Listening Foundation

You'll practice three levels of listening—internal, focused, and global—through structured exercises. Most new coaches discover they've been preparing responses instead of actually hearing their clients. This phase feels uncomfortable because you're breaking conversational habits built over decades.

  • 2

    Weeks 4-7: Question Design

Learn to distinguish between genuine inquiry and disguised advice. You'll analyze your question patterns, identify where you're leading versus exploring, and develop comfort with open-ended questions that don't have predetermined answers. Peer feedback sessions reveal blind spots in your approach.

  • 3

Weeks 8-10: Managing the Coaching Relationship

Work with volunteer clients under supervision. You'll navigate situations where clients miss sessions, resist action steps, or expect you to solve their problems. These scenarios teach you how to maintain professional boundaries while staying genuinely invested in client success.

  • 4

Weeks 11-12: Integration and Practice Setup

Develop your coaching agreement templates, pricing structure, and intake process. You'll also create a professional development plan because coaching skills require ongoing refinement—this isn't a finish line, it's a starting point for continuous learning.
